Tragedy has struck the McDonough household... our Kindle 3 is dead :(
Meighan powered up her Kindle to try and unwind before bed, but instead of displaying her latest book, the screen failed. As you can see in this image, part of the screen is stuck in its sleep mode state while the other half does not display anything at all.
Attempting to do a hard reset or pressing ALT+G has no effect (well, no beneficial effects), so we were forced to contact Amazon’s support crew and request a replacement.
The good news is that Amazon is sending us a replacement free of charge. The bad news is that it won’t arrive here until at least a week from now, during which we’ll be sent back into the dark ages and forced to read books printed on ... actual paper!
